Department Manager

About the role

The Department Manager is responsible for driving sales and profit targets in the store while delivering the best customer experience. Reporting to the Store Manager and supervising Sales Advisors, you will build and develop a high‑performing team, manage succession planning, and ensure compliance with H&M standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the department with a clear vision to create an outstanding experience for customers and colleagues.
• Evaluate team performance, provide regular feedback, and support development and training.
• Analyse sales and profit KPIs and act on the results.
• Ensure health, safety, legal and security standards are met in line with H&M policies and local law.
• Provide input on allocation, replenishment and garment levels based on sales trends.
• Inform the Store Manager of any risks, threats or opportunities related to the competitive landscape.

Required profile

• Inclusive, positive, creative and eager to learn on the job.
• Passionate about customer service and helping people find their style.
• Multi‑tasker, flexible and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• 1‑2+ years of transferable experience, preferably in a customer‑facing management role.
• Previous experience leading and managing teams.
