Database Engineer Lead (AVP)

About the role

Delta Capita is looking for an experienced Database Engineering Lead (AVP) to drive performance, stability and scalability of its Azure‑based data platform. You will combine hands‑on database engineering with cloud technologies and technical leadership to support a market‑leading regulatory reporting solution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, optimisation and operation of the Report Hub database platforms.
• Drive performance tuning, resilience, automation and cloud adoption initiatives.
• Support high‑volume, business‑critical production environments.
• Lead incident resolution and continuous improvement activities.
• Mentor engineers and act as the senior escalation point for database‑related matters.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture and Support teams to deliver a scalable, secure platform.

Required profile

• Extensive SQL Server and Azure SQL experience.
• Strong database administration, architecture and performance‑tuning expertise.
• Experience with Azure, DevOps, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
• Proven technical leadership within complex enterprise environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
• Financial services or regulatory reporting experience is advantageous.
