IBM i AS400 Administrator

About the role

The IBM i AS400 Administrator will manage and maintain IBM i / AS400 systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security for business‑critical applications. This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Hyderabad, supporting a range of enterprise workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor system health and performance, applying patches, upgrades, and performance tuning as needed.
• Perform backups, restores, and disaster‑recovery procedures to protect critical data.
• Manage user profiles, access controls, and security settings, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, coordinating with application, development, and security teams.
• Document procedures, contribute to automation initiatives, and participate in on‑call support rotations.

Required profile

• Strong IBM i / AS400 system administration experience, including job scheduling and hardware configuration.
• Hands‑on experience with the IBM i operating system, CL commands, and security administration.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve system, network, and application issues in a fast‑paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant certifications in IBM i / AS400 are a plus.
