Data Scientist – Generative AI Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to lead Generative AI initiatives within our Bengaluru R&D hub. The role combines advanced machine‑learning research with practical product development, focusing on large language models and AI‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy machine‑learning models, especially LLM‑based solutions.
• Implement and fine‑tune generative AI frameworks such as LlamaIndex, LangChain and Autogen.
• Collaborate with research teams and external partners to build end‑to‑end Conversational AI, document understanding and Q&A systems.
• Perform data collection, preprocessing, feature engineering and exploratory analysis.
• Develop and maintain reusable tooling, pipelines and vector‑database integrations (e.g., Pinecone, Qdrant).
• Translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations for product and business improvement.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of experience as a Data Scientist or Generative AI specialist.
• 2‑3 years of hands‑on experience developing Generative AI solutions.
• Proven track record with open‑source and closed‑source LLMs (Llama, Gemma, Mixtral, OpenAI GPT, Azure OpenAI, Claude, Gemini).
• Strong understanding of NLP techniques, transformer architectures and prompt engineering.
• Experience leading projects independently and guiding team members.
• Excellent communication skills to convey data‑driven stories to stakeholders.

• OpenNLP, CoreNLP, WordNet, NLTK, SpaCy, Gensim.
• LLM technologies (Llama, Gemma, Mixtral, GPT, Claude, Gemini) and vector databases (Pinecone, Qdrant).
• Prompt engineering, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), agents and guardrails.
• Frameworks: LlamaIndex, LangChain, Autogen.
• Cloud platforms: Azure, GCP, AWS; API frameworks: Flask, FastAPI, Swagger, Postman.
