Data Science Analyst

About the role

The Data Science Analyst position is a trainee role designed for individuals with a solid quantitative background who are eager to develop practical data science skills. You will work closely with senior data scientists and engineers to support data‑driven projects across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing large datasets to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Conduct basic exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
• Support feature engineering activities for machine‑learning models.
• Help build, train, and evaluate simple machine‑learning models under guidance.
• Maintain clear documentation of data processes, models, and analytical findings.
• Collaborate with senior data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Prepare reports and visualisations to communicate findings effectively.
• Participate in training programs, workshops, and self‑study to continuously improve data‑science competencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• High curiosity, learning agility, and a collaborative mindset.
• Meticulous attention to detail when handling data.

Required skills

• Python programming (including Pandas, NumPy, Scikit‑learn).
• R programming basics.
• SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Data‑visualisation tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Fundamental understanding of statistical concepts (hypothesis testing, regression).
• Basic knowledge of common machine‑learning algorithms (linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees).
