Data Management Operations Analyst

About the role

As a Data Analyst in our Data Management Operations Team, you will play a key role in executing data management capabilities across Data Quality, Reference and Master Data, Standards and Obligations. The role combines experience in data analysis across systems and business processes with strong data‑management skills to deliver outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Division, Data & Analytics Team and business stakeholders across Enterprise Data Risk, Technology, Digital and other divisions.
• Ensure data is organised, managed and leveraged within Australia Retail to meet obligations and achieve tangible outcomes for customers and bankers.
• Support multiple business units with data‑outcome delivery, including requirements gathering, mapping, analysis and process evolution.
• Manage – and at times lead – activities and issues to drive business value with a data focus.
• Operate a robust approach to Data Quality, Reference and Master Data, policies, standards, obligations reviews, records, privacy and ethics management.
• Manage data quality issues and drive remediation strategies and execution.
• Map and catalogue data elements and assets, addressing any quality shortcomings identified.
• Deliver against committed milestones and identify constraints that hinder progress, escalating as appropriate.
• Uphold ANZ’s core values in all interactions with staff, colleagues and customers.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 + years of relevant experience.
• Strong team player who builds trusted relationships, collaborates effectively, shares knowledge and embraces continuous learning.
• Experience or exposure to data‑management or data‑governance concepts, particularly data quality.
• Proven ability to identify, analyse and resolve data‑quality issues.
• Solid understanding of data cataloguing, metadata, data lineage, data assets, accountability and the data lifecycle.
• Capability in data analysis, analytics engineering and visualisation tools (Qlik Sense, dbt, SQL advantageous).
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
