Data Infrastructure Engineer – Engineer IV

About the role

We are looking for a curious, team‑focused Data Infrastructure Engineer to join Anaplan’s dynamic engineering team in Gurugram. In this role you will design, build, and maintain the data pipelines that feed our Lakehouse, enabling operational insights for our Fortune‑50 customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own the infrastructure for ingesting data into the Anaplan Lakehouse.
• Design and execute CI/CD pipelines for resilient automated deployments.
• Monitor pipelines using metrics, traces, alerts, and dashboards to ensure reliability.
• Partner with product, analytics, and platform teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Lead investigations of correctness, performance, and scalability issues across the stack.
• Mentor engineers and foster a data‑driven team culture.
• Ensure health and scalability of all systems in scope.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record in data infrastructure leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Message queues at scale (e.g., Pulsar).
• Distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Flink).
• Schema definition, enforcement, and migration.
• Container orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Lakehouse platforms, especially Databricks.
• Automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Advanced SQL, notebook, and Pandas for data validation.
• Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
• Mentoring and leading cross‑functional technical projects.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud‑native design.
• Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
