Data Engineering Manager – Hands‑On Leadership

About the role

Riveron is looking for a hands‑on Data Engineering Manager to join its India data engineering team. You will write production‑grade code daily, build pipelines, and architect data platforms while leading a group of engineers. The role blends technical delivery with people leadership, emphasizing code‑first leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Write and ship production‑ready data pipelines, transformation logic, and platform configurations.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers while remaining the strongest technical contributor.
• Design and implement scalable data platforms on Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, and Databricks.
• Architect lakehouse and data‑warehouse solutions, defining ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption patterns.
• Own complex pipeline builds, performance tuning, and architectural spikes.
• Develop shared libraries, frameworks, and reusable components to enforce engineering standards.
• Conduct deep code reviews focused on correctness, performance, and maintainability.
• Partner with analytics, data science, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into engineered solutions.

Required profile

• 7‑9 years of data engineering experience, including 1‑3 years of technical leadership while staying hands‑on.
• Proven track record building production workloads on Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, and Databricks.
• Strong background in lakehouse, medallion, data‑vault, and dimensional modeling.
• Deep proficiency in SQL and Python for complex transformations and performance optimization.
• Experience delivering ETL/ELT frameworks with Azure Data Factory, dbt, Spark, and native orchestration tools.
