Data Engineer

About the role

Airbus is seeking a passionate Data Engineer to join its Digital Transformation team in Bangalore. You will help build and operate the data‑value chain that powers business optimisation and new data‑driven revenue streams across the company and its partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines on Palantir Foundry.
• Implement cloud‑native solutions on AWS, including APIs, Lambda functions, Glue jobs, S3 storage and RDS databases.
• Create and optimise database schemas for both relational (RDBMS) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) stores.
• Set up and manage CI/CD workflows using Jenkins, GitHub and SonarQube.
• Collaborate with Agile Scrum/Kanban teams to deliver data products on schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 4‑5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong attention to detail and a results‑oriented mindset.
• Advanced level of English communication.

Required skills

• Python, Spark, PySpark, SQL.
• AWS services: Lambda, S3, IAM, RDS, Glue.
• Palantir Foundry data‑engineering tools.
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub, SonarQube.
• Database design (RDBMS, DynamoDB).
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and containerisation (Docker) – nice to have.
• Unit testing and test‑driven development.
