Data Engineer – Flex Analytics

About the role

Interested in the gig economy? Join the Amazon Flex Analytics Team, which builds the global business intelligence platform powering Amazon Flex worldwide. As a Data Engineer you will design, implement and support scalable data pipelines and analytics tools that help understand driver behavior and satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Create and support data pipelines on AWS technologies such as Spark, Cradle, DataCraft, Glue, Kinesis, and Redshift/Spectrum.
• Develop and improve data architecture, data quality, monitoring and availability.
• Collaborate with BI Engineers to enhance reporting, analysis and self‑service data access for business users.
• Design platforms that enable ad‑hoc access to large datasets and visualisation for non‑technical teams.
• Participate in strategic and tactical planning to guide the data engineering roadmap.

Required profile

• 1+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.
• Proficiency in at least one query language (SQL, PL/SQL, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala, etc.) and one scripting language (Python, KornShell, etc.).

Required skills

• Python, R, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, EMR.
• AWS services: Glue, Kinesis, Redshift, Redshift Spectrum.
• ETL tools: Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage.
• Data integration and governance concepts.
