Cylindrical Grinding Operator

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Cylindrical Grinding Operator to join our production team in India. You will be responsible for grinding carbide and steel cutting tools to precise specifications, ensuring high‑quality output for automotive, aerospace, electronics and engineering applications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cylindrical grinding of carbide and steel cutting tools according to engineering specifications.
• Set up and operate grinding machines independently, selecting appropriate wheels and making necessary adjustments.
• Conduct in‑process inspections, record production data and maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Dress grinding wheels and perform basic machine adjustments to sustain optimal grinding performance.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets and work instructions.
• Monitor machine performance, report abnormalities and coordinate maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean work area and apply 5S principles in the production environment.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives aimed at reducing scrap and increasing productivity.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in cylindrical grinding operations.
• Hands‑on experience grinding carbide and steel cutting tools.
• Strong knowledge of wheel selection, machine setup and basic adjustments.
• Ability to achieve close tolerances and high‑quality surface finishes.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments such as micrometres, verniers and dial gauges.
• Understanding of cutting‑tool manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and process specifications.
• Commitment to safety practices and machine maintenance.
