Community Medical Officer – Cancer Screening

About the role

The organization seeks a Community Medical Officer to lead a large‑scale, community‑based cancer screening programme across Jharkhand and Odisha. The role involves extensive field travel, data‑driven decision making, and coordination of a multidisciplinary medical team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of eight medical professionals conducting oral, breast, and cervical cancer screenings.
• Travel across Jharkhand and Odisha to organise and execute community screening activities.
• Oversee data capture, ensure data quality, and coordinate analysis with dedicated staff.
• Manage field operations of the screening project and contribute to the creation of a rural cancer registry.
• Report directly to the Director of the specialist cancer hospital.

Required profile

• MBBS degree from an NMC‑recognised medical college.
• Registration with the National Medical Council or a State Medical Council.
• Minimum two years of post‑internship clinical experience.
• Experience in community‑based cancer screening or large‑scale data handling is preferred.
• Ability to lead a multi‑speciality, multi‑gender, multi‑ethnic team in field settings.
• Fluency in Hindi and Odia is an advantage.
