Communications Support Intern (Level I)

About the role

The United Nations Information Centre in New Delhi is looking for a Communications Support Intern (Level I) to assist with its media, outreach and strategic communications activities. This three‑month, full‑time, unpaid internship offers hands‑on experience in creating and disseminating UN information to diverse audiences across India.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in media monitoring and preparation of communications materials.
• Support the creation of web articles, social‑media posts and public‑event content aligned with UN International Days and flagship reports.
• Help select and edit film/video footage for social‑media and feature stories.
• Conduct research for UN events and campaigns and provide logistical support for UNIC activities.
• Draft and update content for the UNIC website and social‑media platforms.
• Perform other tasks as requested by the National Information Officer.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a bachelor’s degree, or hold a graduate degree.
• Demonstrated interest in the work of the United Nations and commitment to its ideals.
• Computer literate with proficiency in standard software applications.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent standard software.
