Commis Chef

About the role

Kitchen Roast is looking for a motivated Commis Chef to join its on‑site catering team in Mumbai. This full‑time position supports daily food preparation, cooking and plating for a variety of catering orders and events, offering a hands‑on learning environment alongside senior chefs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with mise en place and ingredient preparation for scheduled menus.
• Follow recipes accurately and contribute to plating and presentation.
• Maintain high hygiene standards and adhere to food safety protocols.
• Store, rotate and manage inventory of fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
• Support kitchen organization, cleaning duties and basic inventory tasks.
• Collaborate closely with senior chefs to learn new techniques and improve culinary skills.

Required profile

• Basic culinary education or formal kitchen training.
• Prior experience in a professional kitchen or catering environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and peak event schedules.
• Commitment to sustainability and high‑quality ingredients.
