Cloud Engineer

About the role

The Cloud Engineer will join Priceline's Cloud Development Team, delivering robust, high‑traffic cloud services and supporting a containerized micro‑service platform. This hybrid role works closely with engineering, product, support and infrastructure teams to align with the company’s technical vision.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with engineering and infrastructure to deliver cloud services from inception to operation.
• Support an agile team in implementing infrastructure for a 12‑factor, containerized/microservice platform.
• Develop cloud‑focused tooling to enable technology teams to consume cloud services.
• Collaborate with Security and Architecture teams to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
• Interact professionally with employees, vendors, and clients across all levels.
• Organize tasks and resources to meet deadlines and project goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3.6–6 years of experience managing complex distributed systems.
• Deep knowledge of public cloud environments such as GCP or AWS.
• Strong experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and service meshes like Istio.
• Proficiency with declarative IaC tools such as Terraform.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
• Hands‑on programming experience in Python, Go, and Bash.
• Comfortable with Linux command line, system administration, networking and load‑balancing concepts.
• Experience automating CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
