Cloud and Data Platform Operations Lead

About the role

Chubb is looking for an experienced operations leader to head its Cloud and Data Platform Operations function out of its engineering centre in India. The role owns the 24/7 availability, reliability and performance of Chubb's enterprise cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data platforms, and leads a globally distributed, follow-the-sun team covering APAC, EMEA and the Americas. It is also the senior escalation point for critical production incidents in US hours.

Key responsibilities

• Own end-to-end production operations and serve as escalation lead for critical incidents, including on-call rotas, escalation procedures, runbooks, PIRs and RCA.
• Define and track operational KPIs such as MTTR, MTTD, change failure rate and system availability.
• Lead a globally distributed operations team, enforce shift handovers and foster a culture of disciplined on-call practice, blameless post-mortems and knowledge sharing.
• Manage the full ITIL/ITSM lifecycle in ServiceNow, including Major Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management.
• Design, build and operate multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) with modular IaC (Terraform/Bicep), CI/CD pipelines with DevSecOps, and FinOps governance of cloud costs.
• Operate data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes and data models, optimise Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks and Azure Synapse Analytics, and enforce data lifecycle and quality controls.
• Report availability, incident trends and cost data to executives and manage stakeholder expectations on maintenance, risks and release readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 15-20 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience leading 24/7 production operations and globally distributed teams.
• Strong executive communication skills, preferably gained in a regulated industry.
