Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist – Immediate Joiner

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist to join our team in India on a permanent basis. The role focuses on inpatient (IP) coding, DRG reconciliation and ensuring high‑quality physician documentation across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Perform concurrent CDI reviews, DRG reconciliation and resolve DRG mismatches.
• Query physicians for precise documentation supporting severity of illness and risk of mortality.
• Conduct education sessions for surgery residents to improve documentation and revenue capture.
• Evaluate health records and translate clinical information into accurate coded data.
• Communicate with providers through formal queries and written feedback to clarify ambiguous documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of CDI/IP‑DRG coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of APR‑DRG, MS‑DRG, ICD‑10‑CM/PCS and related clinical guidelines.
• Hands‑on experience with Epic and 3M 360 coding tools.
• Certification such as CCS, CIC or CDIP is preferred.
• Ability to conduct documentation education and lead quality‑improvement initiatives.
