About the role

We are looking for a Category Buyer specialized in Digital Procurement to lead IT sourcing activities for BASF in the Asia Pacific region. The role will manage the full procurement lifecycle, from demand intake to contract signing and purchase order creation, ensuring best value for the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute IT sourcing projects with spend ranging from €250k to €3M per year.
• Manage the end‑to‑end procurement process, including demand intake, RFP execution, contract negotiation and PO creation.
• Act as the primary business partner for internal stakeholders up to group‑leader level, translating needs into procurement solutions.
• Steer cross‑functional stakeholders—including legal, compliance and suppliers—through the procurement process while maintaining transparency and adherence to standards.
• Conduct commercial negotiations, support supplier relationship management and drive performance improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum three years of experience in procurement, IT or related fields.
• Completed procurement training or development program.
