Cashier – Multiple Locations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at a bank branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role involves handling cash, cheques, drafts and other instruments, maintaining accurate registers and supporting customers with their banking needs.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, providing acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and record entries in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward cash registers, petty‑cash register and assets register; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, reconcile transactions and prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash department with the Operations Officer and Assistant Branch Manager.
• Provide courteous customer service, explain repayment dates, promote new products and guide customers to alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with turnaround times, regulatory requirements and bank policies for all cashier operations.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.
