Cashier – Branch Banking

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash‑related transactions such as cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders, and cash withdrawals within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans, maintaining accurate system entries.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and update relevant registers.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash, and assets registers; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑selling opportunities, and educate them on alternate banking channels.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, bank policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.
