Cashier – Branch Banking (Full‑time)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. The role ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and provides courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain appropriate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, cross‑sell bank products, and educate them on alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, defined TATs and internal policies.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slips for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Experience in cash handling and banking operations.
• Strong knowledge of banking guidelines and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to perform accurate end‑of‑day reconciliation and cash tally.
• Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under defined TATs.
