CAPEX Procurement Specialist – R&D

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic procurement professional to lead CAPEX purchasing for our R&D organization. The role focuses on end‑to‑end sourcing of laboratory and pilot‑plant equipment, engineering goods, utilities and related services, ensuring timely delivery, cost optimisation and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle CAPEX procurement for R&D projects and infrastructure expansion.
• Source and procure laboratory, pilot‑plant, instrumentation, engineering items and utilities.
• Issue RFQs, evaluate techno‑commercial offers and support vendor negotiations.
• Create and process purchase orders, securing timely approvals.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, finance and project teams to meet schedules.
• Track delivery, installation timelines and procurement milestones.
• Handle import documentation and logistics where required.
• Develop vendor relationships, explore alternate sourcing and ensure policy compliance.
• Prepare procurement MIS, spend analysis and project dashboards.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Chemistry or related science/engineering discipline.
• MBA in Operations/Supply Chain or relevant certification preferred.
• 3‑5 years of procurement experience in agrochemical, pharmaceutical, life‑sciences or specialty chemicals R&D.
• Hands‑on experience in CAPEX, project or engineering procurement.
• Proficiency with SAP, Ariba or similar procurement platforms.
