Buyer – Procurement & Planning Specialist

About the role

The Buyer will convert demand forecasts into purchase orders, manage supplier relationships and ensure on‑time delivery of materials for manufacturing operations. This position combines procurement, inventory control and vendor performance monitoring within a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review purchase requisitions, create and track purchase orders in SAP.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery dates, quality and packaging with suppliers.
• Monitor vendor performance, resolve conflicts and handle material shortages.
• Coordinate with engineering to address technical queries on parts and drawings.
• Validate receipt of goods, approve invoices and process non‑conforming material requests.
• Maintain lead‑time and pricing data, and provide regular updates to management.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in manufacturing procurement or supply chain management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints and specifications.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Capacity to prioritize multiple vendors and urgent orders with minimal supervision.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP for purchase order processing and data maintenance.
