Buyer (Manufacturing Procurement)

About the role

The Buyer will manage sourcing activities and convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders for a manufacturing environment. You will ensure on‑time delivery, maintain vendor relationships, and support the engineering team with technical procurement needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute buying activities, inventory management, and material follow‑up.
• Negotiate with suppliers on price, delivery dates, quality, and packaging.
• Develop and monitor vendor performance, focusing on cost reduction, quality, and on‑time delivery.
• Conduct RFQs for active, passive, and electromechanical components and build‑to‑print parts.
• Maintain purchase order tracking, lead times, and pricing in SAP.
• Verify receipt of materials, approve invoices, and process MRBR/RMA requests.
• Provide feedback on material shortages and supplier capacity.
• Act as liaison between vendors and engineering to resolve technical questions.

Required profile

• Experience in the manufacturing industry with solid supply‑chain knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and numerical skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• High attention to detail, confidence, objectivity, and ethical conduct.
