Buyer – Global Procurement Central Services

About the role

Amazon’s Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) team ensures that fulfillment centres receive the non‑inventory packaging supplies they need at the best overall value. As a GPCS Buyer you will support a cluster of fulfillment centres, managing daily forecasts, purchase orders and supplier relationships to keep operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily forecasts and material management for non‑inventory packaging supplies.
• Create and process purchase orders, ensuring timely deliveries.
• Liaise with suppliers, internal on‑site teams and other Amazon groups to coordinate deliveries and resolve escalations.
• Schedule truck deliveries, communicate delivery windows to receiving teams, and monitor off‑loading timelines.
• Develop strategies with operations to mitigate space constraints and reduce invoice holds.
• Support other regional buyers, provide training to new buyers, and contribute to procurement metrics such as cost savings and stock‑out avoidance.
• Perform compliance checks on purchase requisitions, maintain procurement catalogs, and onboard new vendors.

Required profile

• Advanced English proficiency (CEFR B2/C1).
• Experience with MS Office, especially MS Excel.
• Background in procurement, purchasing and supplier relationship management.
• Fluency in Italian, French and German (reading, writing, speaking).
• Willingness to travel occasionally (≈5% of time) to fulfil centres.
