Business Development Manager – Retail (Kerala)

About the role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to lead our retail sales efforts in Kerala. You will be responsible for driving growth across traditional trade, modern trade and e‑commerce channels, acting as the bridge between distributors, customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets by setting and monitoring distributor goals.
• Identify new market areas, appoint distributors, and allocate sales resources based on potential.
• Develop and execute secondary sales plans by region, brand and SKU.
• Maintain high market coverage, ensure product availability, visibility and proper stock rotation.
• Implement trade and consumer promotion activities and support micro‑marketing initiatives.
• Track competition and provide actionable insights to the sales leadership.
• Train distributors on DMS processes, monitor compliance, and review their financial health.

Required profile

• 2‑7 years of experience in retail (traditional trade, modern trade & e‑commerce) within the FMCG sector.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyse sales data and extract business insights.
• Proven collaboration and relationship‑building capabilities with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in business planning, sales forecasting and distributor management.
