Business Development Executive – Freelance Platform Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Business Development Executive who will drive new revenue by identifying and winning projects on Upwork and other freelance marketplaces. The role involves prospecting, proposal creation, client communication and converting leads into long‑term partnerships for our software development services.

Key responsibilities

• Search and qualify relevant projects on Upwork, Freelancer, Guru, LinkedIn and other platforms.
• Analyze client requirements, assess feasibility and submit customized, high‑conversion proposals.
• Maintain a strong response rate, manage profile visibility and track bidding performance.
• Generate leads through online research, referrals and prospect databases.
• Communicate with clients via Upwork chat, email, LinkedIn and video calls to gather requirements and schedule meetings.
• Prepare professional proposals, estimations, presentations, SOWs and project summaries.
• Follow up, negotiate scope, pricing and timelines, and assist in closing deals and onboarding.
• Update CRM with lead status, communication history and submit regular activity reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience bidding and winning projects on Upwork or similar platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong understanding of software development services and ability to translate client needs into proposals.
• Independent worker with solid lead qualification and relationship‑building abilities.
• Detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
