Bridge/Structural Engineer

About the role

Join AECOM as a Bridge/Structural Engineer to lead the design, construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of major bridge and highway structures. You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring high‑quality, compliant solutions for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert technical guidance for the design, construction, supervision, rehabilitation and maintenance of bridges and highway structures.
• Review and assess structural designs, drawings, calculations, specifications and construction methodologies for major bridges.
• Supervise construction of foundations, substructures, superstructures, bearings, expansion joints and approach works.
• Ensure compliance with IRC codes, MoRTH/NHAI specifications, BIS standards and contractual requirements.
• Conduct inspections, testing and condition assessments of major bridges and recommend repair, strengthening or retrofitting measures.

Required profile

• Graduate in Civil Engineering with at least 12 years of experience handling bridge projects, including two projects with a major bridge of minimum 300 m length.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of major bridges (minimum 300 m) and a valid medical fitness certificate (for candidates over 60 years).
• Preferably a postgraduate degree in Structural Engineering and exposure to highway development projects (≥40 % of project length).

• Bridge design and structural analysis.
• Construction supervision of bridge foundations, substructures and superstructures.
• Structural inspection, condition assessment and testing of concrete, steel and prestressed components.
• Rehabilitation, strengthening and retrofitting of existing bridges.
• Compliance with Indian Road Congress (IRC), MoRTH/NHAI and BIS standards.
