Branch Cashier (Full‑time)

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation and supports excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain appropriate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and forward requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, promote cross‑selling opportunities and educate them on alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all bank policies, regulatory requirements and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer authenticity for cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.

• Customer‑focused attitude with good communication skills.
• Understanding of banking regulations and internal compliance procedures.
• Capability to work collaboratively with the Branch Operations Manager and other staff.
