Branch Cashier – Full-time

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for handling all cash‑related transactions and maintaining accurate records in accordance with banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the smooth operation of the branch by processing deposits, withdrawals, and loan repayments while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and cash deposits within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect repayments as per EMI schedules.
• Maintain inward/outward cash registers, petty‑cash logs and asset registers; prepare requisition forms for the regional office.
• Perform daily cash tally, end‑of‑day reconciliation and prepare branch reports.
• Safeguard branch cash, keys and valuables in coordination with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Ensure compliance with bank policies, regulatory requirements and defined turnaround times.
• Assist customers, promote bank products and guide them to use alternate channels for transactions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; banking experience preferred.
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and handle cash responsibly.
• Good communication skills and customer‑focused attitude.
