Branch Cashier – Full-time

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations within the branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position reports to the Branch Operation Manager and plays a key role in maintaining accurate cash balances and delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process and acknowledge cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and record them in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward cash registers, petty‑cash and asset registers, and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, end‑of‑day reconciliation and prepare the Branch cash report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and safeguard cash, keys and valuables with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Interact with customers, explain repayment dates, promote new products and encourage use of alternate channels.
• Ensure adherence to turnaround times, regulatory requirements and bank policies for all cashier operations.

• Experience handling cash and banking instruments in a branch environment.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping and reconciliation.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and address their queries.
• Commitment to follow compliance procedures and internal controls.
