Branch Cashier – Full-time

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. The role ensures accurate cash handling, maintains relevant registers, and completes end‑of‑day reconciliation.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and record entries in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, and assets register; forward requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare the End‑of‑Day Branch report, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, and promote cross‑selling of bank products.
• Educate customers on using alternate channels for transactions and ensure compliance with all banking policies.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.
