Branch Cashier – Banking Operations

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for handling all cash‑related transactions and ensuring accurate record‑keeping in accordance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the smooth operation of the branch by managing cash flow, customer interactions, and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process, and disburse cash, cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, and pay orders within authorized limits.
• Maintain inward/outward cash registers, petty‑cash logs, and asset registers; submit requisition forms to the regional head office.
• Perform daily cash tally, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and prepare branch cash reports.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and safeguard cash, keys, and valuables with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Assist customers with deposits, withdrawals, loan repayments, and provide information on new products and services.
• Escalate customer queries and grievances promptly to the appropriate authority.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, internal policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.
