Branch Cashier – Banking Operations

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the bank branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain appropriate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash register, and assets register; submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, identify cross‑sell opportunities, and educate them on new products and alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Good understanding of banking guidelines and compliance requirements.
• Ability to perform end‑of‑day reconciliation and maintain accurate registers.
