Biomedical Systems Engineer – Connected MedTech

About the role

As a Biomedical Systems Engineer you will design, develop and validate physiological sensing solutions for connected medical devices. You will bridge biomedical knowledge with embedded and data‑oriented engineering to create reliable, clinically relevant sensor systems for diagnostic, therapeutic and monitoring applications.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse physiological systems and define clinically relevant measurable parameters such as pressure, flow, temperature and optional bio‑signals (ECG, SpO₂).
• Select and evaluate sensing technologies (MEMS, optical, thermal, electrochemical) and assess biocompatibility and variability.
• Collaborate with electronics and embedded teams to define sensor interface requirements (AFE, ADC, sampling) and ensure signal quality.
• Develop signal‑processing algorithms, filtering, calibration and compensation models to convert raw data into meaningful clinical metrics.
• Integrate the complete signal chain from sensor to embedded firmware, connectivity and cloud/mobile applications, defining data formats and basic APIs.
• Design and execute experimental validation studies to confirm biomedical performance.

Required profile

• Strong background in biomedical engineering or related life‑science discipline.
• Hands‑on experience with sensor technologies and signal acquisition.
• Proficiency in embedded systems development and data‑flow architecture.
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and translate clinical needs into engineering solutions.
