Banking Trainee – Credit Operations

About the role

The Banking Trainee will support the Credit Operations team in processing credit sanction proposals and ensuring compliance with internal policies and RBI guidelines. Working closely with the Corporate Administration Department, the trainee will gain hands‑on experience in documentation, data verification, and financial reconciliation.

Key responsibilities

• Process credit sanction proposals in line with bank policies and RBI regulations.
• Verify and issue Facility Letters accurately, ensuring all required documentation matches the Credit Approval Memo.
• Conduct quality checks on data captured in the system, including valuation reports, title searches, ROC, CERCAI, stock audit reports, and security review memos.
• Monitor exception tracking systems and ensure proper handling of disbursement notices without operational loss.
• Perform reconciliations of internal CASA accounts, general ledger balances, and GST‑related entries, investigating any mismatches.
• Analyse stock statements, cash‑flow statements, and compute drawing power for fund‑based facilities.
• Maintain MIS reports for the portfolio managed by the Corporate Administration Department and perform regular quality checks.

Required profile

• Graduates with a degree in finance, accounting, economics or related fields.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Good understanding of banking regulations, especially RBI guidelines.
• Ability to work with large data sets and perform accurate reconciliations.
• Effective communication skills for coordination with internal teams.
