Banking Trainee – Credit Operations

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Trainee to join our Credit Operations team. The role provides hands‑on experience in processing credit sanction proposals, ensuring compliance with internal policies and RBI guidelines, and supporting the end‑to‑end credit lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Process credit sanction proposals in line with bank policies and RBI regulations.
• Verify and issue Facility Letters with all required documentation as per the Credit Approval Memo (CAM).
• Perform quality checks on data captured in the system, including valuation reports, title searches, ROC, CERCAI, stock audit reports, and security review memos.
• Monitor and update the exceptions tracking system, ensuring accurate reflection of required exceptions.
• Validate Disbursement Notices, aiming for zero operational loss or revenue leakage.
• Conduct reconciliations and comparisons of data and reports to identify anomalies or gaps.
• Analyse stock statements and cash flows, compute DP calculations for fund‑based facilities, and update CBS for changes in drawing power.
• Reconcile internal CASA accounts and general ledger balances daily, investigating any unmatched entries.
• Validate GST‑related entries against the General Ledger before system upload.
• Maintain MIS reports and perform quality checks for the Corporate Administration portfolio.

Required profile

• Graduates with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related fields.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Good understanding of banking regulations, especially RBI guidelines.
• Ability to work with large data sets and perform accurate reconciliations.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Required skills

• Knowledge of credit processing and documentation.
• Familiarity with general ledger and GST reconciliation.
• Proficiency in using banking core systems (e.g., CBS) and MS Office tools.
