Bank Cashier – Multiple Locations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role supports smooth branch functioning through accurate cash handling, customer service, and timely reconciliation.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain corresponding system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and asset registers, and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during transactions, promote cross‑selling opportunities and educate them on alternate channels.
• Ensure adherence to turnaround times, regulatory compliance, and bank policies for all cashier operations.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy.

Required profile

• Prior experience in cash handling or banking operations.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow banking guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
• Capability to work under defined turnaround times and handle cash securely.
