Bank Cashier (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Bank Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the efficient functioning of the branch by handling cash, maintaining registers, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash‑related instruments such as cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, and pay orders within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and record entries in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash register, assets register and forward requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, reconcile with transaction books and vouchers, and prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Operations Officer/Assistant Branch Manager.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, explain repayment dates, and promote cross‑selling of bank products.
• Ensure compliance with bank policies, regulatory guidelines and defined turnaround times for all cashier operations.
• Verify customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and validate cash deposit slips for audit purposes.
• Update passbooks and process cash bundles for currency chest deposits.
