Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at a branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This role ensures accurate processing, proper record‑keeping, and end‑of‑day reconciliation while delivering courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, providing acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash register, assets register and forward requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report and ensure vault operations with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, promote cross‑selling opportunities and educate on alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with defined turnaround times, banking regulations and internal policies.
• Validate customer authenticity for cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy.
