Backend Engineer

About the role

Lascade is seeking a Backend Engineer to design and build secure, high‑performance backend systems that power our global AI‑powered tools, mobile apps, travel technology, and subscription products. You will work on services that support millions of users and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and user‑management solutions.
• Create efficient relational and NoSQL database schemas and optimise queries.
• Integrate third‑party APIs, payment gateways, and external platforms.
• Build background jobs, scheduled tasks, queues, and event‑driven workflows.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot production issues, and improve reliability.
• Participate in architecture discussions and long‑term technical decisions.
• Collaborate with Product, Mobile, AI, and Growth teams to deliver new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑tested code following engineering best practices.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong understanding of API design and backend architecture.
• Hands‑on experience building RESTful APIs and modern backend services.
• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with authentication, authorization, caching, and messaging systems.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and scalable application design.
• Strong debugging, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
• Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Passion for building reliable, secure, and scalable products.
