Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer (Chennai)

About the role

SRM Tech is looking for an Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and manage security solutions for vehicle systems. The position focuses on ensuring compliance with ISO/SAE 21434 throughout the automotive product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) and define cybersecurity requirements.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity work products in line with ISO/SAE 21434.
• Design security solutions for ECUs and connected vehicle platforms, including Secure Boot, OTA security, and SecOC.
• Conduct penetration testing, fuzz testing, and vulnerability assessments on automotive networks.
• Secure communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet.
• Support audits, compliance activities, and incident response.
• Collaborate with software, system engineering, functional safety teams, suppliers, and OEMs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electronics, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in automotive cybersecurity, embedded systems, or software security.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• ISO/SAE 21434 and TARA expertise.
• Automotive cybersecurity and secure software development.
• Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
• Knowledge of CAN, UDS, DoIP, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet.
• Experience with SAST/DAST tools and vulnerability scanners.
• Programming in C/C++, Python, Java.
• Cryptography, PKI, HSM, key management systems.
• Familiarity with CANoe, CANalyzer, DOORS, Polarion (preferred).
