Associate Software Engineer

About the role

Cohere Health is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to help transform prior‑authorization workflows using AI. You will join the fast‑growing Clinical Intelligence team and build cloud‑based solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the functional and technical roadmap, delivering deterministic rules‑based and AI‑driven automation solutions.
• Support technical design, making data‑driven decisions and discovering new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Design, develop, test, and deliver features for the cloud platform and web applications, covering database to frontend.
• Drive engineering releases 2‑4 times a month and provide production support as needed.
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to create high‑quality user experiences for healthcare practitioners.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• 0‑3 years of full‑time software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java or Python.
• Experience building applications with React and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with version control, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, MongoDB) datastores.
• Strong ownership of the full software development lifecycle in a fast‑paced environment.
• Self‑starter attitude with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
