Associate SDET Engineer

About the role

We’re looking for a senior‑level automation engineer to raise release quality, environment reliability, and change safety across Cohere’s platform. The role partners with Product, Engineering, Platform, and SRE to build scalable automation, guardrails, and validation systems for a fast‑moving healthcare platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve end‑to‑end test automation strategy across UI, API, configuration changes, and critical workflows.
• Design and maintain scalable E2E automation frameworks for multi‑tenant, payer‑specific workflows.
• Build automated validation for deployment guardrails, release readiness, and production change safety.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with Platform/DevOps.
• Drive test reliability, reduce flakiness, and provide actionable failure signals.

Required profile

• 1+ years of experience in QA automation, SDET, or test engineering supporting production systems.
• Strong hands‑on experience building UI and API automation frameworks from scratch.
• Experience working with microservices, event‑driven architectures, and cloud‑native systems on AWS.

Required skills

• Playwright or Cypress (E2E frameworks) with TypeScript.
• REST API testing frameworks.
• CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
• AWS cloud services.
• Debugging across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers.
• Automation of configuration‑driven systems, feature flags, and environment‑specific behavior.
