Associate Manager – Safety Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Manager to lead safety initiatives within our coal mining operations. The role combines strategic policy development with hands‑on oversight to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures aligned with regulatory standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Deliver safety training to employees and contractors, focusing on best practices and emergency response.
• Investigate incidents, near‑misses, and accidents, producing detailed reports with preventive recommendations.
• Maintain comprehensive safety records and documentation to satisfy legal and internal requirements.
• Collaborate with management to address safety concerns, create improvement plans, and monitor their execution.
• Participate in safety audits and coordinate with external regulators.
• Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the coal mining industry.
