Associate Director - Backend

About the role

We are looking for an Associate Director to lead the design, development, and operation of highly scalable backend platforms that power our travel booking ecosystem. This senior technical leader will own end‑to‑end delivery, drive architectural excellence, and mentor a high‑performing engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of large‑scale backend services, from architecture to production support.
• Design and scale engineering platforms to reduce technical debt and improve performance.
• Collaborate with product and business teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Lead the development of data‑driven and machine‑learning algorithms for complex travel problems.
• Serve as the technical owner for critical components such as Pricing, Booking, and Hotel platforms.
• Continuously improve delivery processes and foster a quality‑focused culture.
• Drive talent acquisition, development, and retention for the technology team.

Required profile

• 12+ years of industry experience building low‑latency, high‑throughput applications.
• Hands‑on leader with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
• Proven track record designing and delivering data‑intensive, scale‑focused systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a customer‑centric mindset.
