Assistant Tax Manager

About the role

Kantilal Patel & Co. (KPC) is seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant to join its tax team in Ahmedabad. The Assistant Tax Manager will work on a broad spectrum of direct, international, and indirect tax matters, providing advisory support and handling compliance and litigation for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review income‑tax computations, returns and handle tax audits.
• Manage scrutiny assessments, reassessments and draft responses for CIT(A), ITAT and other appellate matters.
• Execute Transfer Pricing compliance, documentation (Form 3CEB), benchmarking and support related litigation.
• Prepare Master File documentation covering group structure, intangibles and international transactions.
• Analyse cross‑border transactions, DTAA provisions and provide tax opinions on permanent establishment, withholding tax and related issues.
• Review foreign remittances, calculate applicable withholding tax and complete required forms.
• Prepare, file and reconcile GST returns (GSTR‑1, 3B, 9, 9C) and advise on ITC, RCM and place‑of‑supply matters.
• Independently manage assigned clients, supervise junior staff and ensure timely delivery of engagements.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant qualification with 1–3 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong conceptual understanding of taxation and ability to analyse complex issues.
• Excellent research, analytical and drafting capabilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
• Working knowledge of Taxmann and other tax research databases.
• Familiarity with Income Tax and GST portals.
