Assistant Professor – UI/UX Design

About the role

AAFT, a premier media and creative arts institute located in Noida, is expanding its design faculty and is looking for an Assistant Professor in UI/UX. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate students, mentor capstone projects, and bring industry relevance to the classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, studio critiques and hands‑on sessions on UI/UX Design, Interaction Design, Design Thinking and related subjects.
• Prepare lesson plans, assignments and assessment rubrics aligned with programme outcomes.
• Guide students on portfolio development, internship readiness and capstone projects.
• Continuously review and update curriculum to reflect current industry trends and global best practices.
• Build industry linkages for student placements, guest lectures and collaborative projects.
• Maintain student records, participate in faculty meetings and contribute to institutional activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience at UG or PG level (mandatory).
• 1–2 years of professional experience as a UI/UX or Product Designer (preferred).
• PhD or active research background is an advantage.

Required skills

• Expert proficiency in Figma; working knowledge of Adobe XD, Sketch or InVision.
• Strong command of UX methodologies including user research, wireframing, prototyping and usability testing.
• Understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and design systems.
• Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for cross‑functional communication.
