Assistant Professor – Petroleum

About the role

The university is looking for an Assistant Professor specializing in Petroleum to strengthen its academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality teaching, guiding student research, and supporting the department’s scholarly activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in petroleum engineering and related subjects.
• Supervise student projects, theses, and dissertations.
• Conduct and publish original research in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Develop curriculum materials and assessment tools.
• Engage with industry partners for collaborative projects and guest lectures.
• Participate in departmental committees, accreditation processes, and academic events.

Required profile

• Educational qualifications as prescribed by the relevant Council/UGC; Ph.D. holders preferred.
• 2 to 8 years of experience in teaching, industry, research organizations, or managerial roles (excluding time spent obtaining the research degree).
• At least two research papers published in peer‑reviewed, refereed journals.
• Specialization in Petroleum engineering or a closely related field.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of petroleum engineering concepts and industry standards.
• Ability to design and deliver effective lectures and laboratory sessions.
• Proficiency in research methodology and academic writing.
• Experience with curriculum development and student assessment.
