Assistant Professor – Computer Applications

About the role

MMDU is seeking an Assistant Professor for its Department of Computer Applications. The successful candidate will join a vibrant academic community, delivering university‑level instruction, advancing research, and contributing to scholarly publications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver curricula, lectures, and laboratory sessions in computer science, programming, and related technology topics.
• Conduct original research, secure external funding, and publish findings in peer‑reviewed academic journals.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students, supervise research projects, and provide academic and career guidance.
• Assess student performance through grading assignments, exams, and projects, and maintain accurate academic records.
• Participate in departmental and university committees, and support accreditation and quality‑assurance activities.
• Foster industry collaborations to create internship opportunities and stay abreast of emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Technology, MCA, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the higher‑education level.
• Strong record of research publications in reputable journals or conferences.
• Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of programming languages and software development concepts.
• Familiarity with specialized sub‑fields of computer science.
